  • Review: Silk Fibre Lash Mascara

On a night out, I love using fake lashes; they always give my eyes a gorgeous dramatic effect and obviously, make my lashes longer. So, when I saw Silk Fibre Lash Mascara, which doesn’t use any glue or any heavy fake lashes to apply, I instantly wanted to try it out.

Silk Fibre Lash Silk Fibre Lash

Silk Mascara comes in what looks like a sunglasses box. There are two tubes - one mascara and the other the mascara fibres.

    How to apply:

    • You first take the mascara and apply normally to your lashes.
    • Next, you take the fibre wand and apply the tiny fibres to the ends of your lashes before the gel dries. DO NOT use this like normal mascara. I did the first time and I got hundreds of little fibres in my eye – really not good.
    • Finish with another coat of mascara to secure the fibres to the end of your lashes.

For best results, I repeated the above twice, which created a gorgeous thick, long look.

Don’t forget to finish with a coat of the mascara gel otherwise the fibres will fall off and not only go all over your face but will go into your eye. Painful.

To remove, simply use a make up wipe or warm water.

I was really, really impressed with the fibre lash mascara. It says on the packet that it increases the length and thickness of your lashes by 150%... I would agree!

As you can see by the pictures, my lashes were longer, thicker and looked great considering there were no fake lashes applied. It’s so easy to use and there’s no faffing with glue or spending lots of money on lashes. You buy it once and it lasts for over 30 applications.

For someone who wants longer, thicker lashes – it’s a must have!

  • Review : Thalgo Energising Vitality cream

    Thalgo images

Ok so up for review this week is Thalgos Energising Vitality cream. I have used lots of Thalgo products before – but never one of their facial moisturizers.

The first thing you notice after you open the beautiful pot, (looks amazing on my bathroom shelf) is the fragrance. It is a subtle sweet fragrance which probably comes from the peach milk ingredient.  A very pleasant fragrance but not too heavy which is nice.

Secondly the texture of the cream is very rich. You only need a few dabs over your skin and that is enough for your whole face. One of my friends uses this same cream by Thalgo and she says a pot will last her a good 3-4 months., using daily. So a pretty good investment really!

After applying the cream for a few days I did notice my skin looked bright and clear. I found after I had exfoliated, cleansed and toned the cream did tingle my skin slightly but I think that was just down to my sensitive skin. I had been using a cheaper moisturizer which was working fine but now compared to a ‘proper’ one I would definitely spend a little more now I can feel the difference in my skin. Some days I even felt like I could brave the outside world without any makeup on!

    4/5 stars from me :)

    xoxo

  • Look amazing this Valentines..

Romance is in the air as Valentine’s Day is only 10 days away, the night of the year for you to look your very best for your partner! With your new lingerie and outfit in tow, it is only necessary to get your hair, make-up and skin perfect.Screen Shot 2014-02-04 at 12.18.35

Plan your hairstyle in advance, as you may not need to wash it. If you are planning an up-do, many hairstyles work best with not freshly washed hair- don’t be scared of a tiny bit of grease! If you are using rollers, place them in before your make-up as they take about 2 hours to take full effect depending on your hair type. Whilst pampering the night before, why not take your time to give your hair a good treatment too, such as a hair mask. I love Moroccan Oil’s Intense Hydrating Mask, it leaves your hair feeling luxuriously soft like satin.

Preparation is key in order to let your skin be it’s best for date night, shave and buffer the night before in order to get super smooth legs. Doing it the night before enables your skin to replenish overnight, adding a light moisturiser whilst getting ready, making it extra smooth for a cosy night in. Plucking and shaping your eyebrows should also be done the night before to avoid any red blotchiness on the night, glowing under candle light.

A facial the night before will cleanse your skin, hydrating it and leaving it refreshed and glowing. Moisturise after this as it will leave your skin feeling silky and smooth. Apply moisturiser before any make- up and leave it to dry in order to form a barrier against all the layers of face make-up you are about to apply.

Don’t forget your nails! It is a busy night before Valentine’s Day and for some girls, nails always go forgotten about! Apply a coat while letting your hair mask work, staying productive on this long preparation process, or if you have time and the money, treat yourself to false nails or shellac which creates a gleaming shine and the affect of false nails without the hassle if they break.

Choosing the right make-up is a big decision if this is your first date. Don’t be too over powering, let your natural beauty shine through. Either enhance your eyes with a smoky defined eye shadow- not too heavy, with a natural looking lip, or a brightly coloured lip with natural glowing eyes.

    Enjoy your night ladies!

    Xoxo
