  • Easy hair up-dos to change up your look

It is so easy to get stuck in routines and just stick with the same hair isn’t it? I wanted some new hair looks that are easy enough to do anywhere!

    Here are my favourite three:

    1. Vintage tuck

This up-do is not only super cute but also super easy!

    • Place a headband over hair that is down. Just over the tops of your ears.
    • Starting at the front of your hair, take a piece of hair one inch thick and tuck it under the head band. Repeat until the whole section of hair is tucked under the headband
    • Simply repeat the whole way round the headband until all your hair is tucked into the headband

Voila! This is a vintage boho look. It also doesn’t matter if it isn’t perfectly neat - sometimes its better that way!

    2. Fishtail plait

The fishtail plait is such a nice modern take on the traditional three strand plait. You can either have the fish tail plait on the side, like a French plait at the back, in two bunches – however you like

    • First, split the hair into two sections, and continually take one section from each side to the other

Top tip: the smaller the sections you take over to each side, the more intricate the fishtail plait will look.

    3. Messy bun with underside plait

A nice addition to the popular messy bun look

    • Tip hair upside down, and start French plaiting underneath
    • Secure the plait with a hair band
    • Create messy bun as usual

Now this one did take me quite a few practices and it might not be perfect first time but keep trying! Once you do these looks once, they get easier each time!

  • Moroccanoil Shine Spray and Styling Cream review

Moroccanoil shine spray and styling cream Moroccanoil shine spray and styling cream

I love moroccanoil, and have used the hair oil for a number of years now. I have never tried any of their other products so thought I would treat myself and give them a go! I opted for the Shine spray as I often use another make of shine spray and the styling cream – which is meant to be great for blow-drying your hair.

I was advised to use both of these products together as they work well when used at the same time. So here’s how I got on…

    Styling cream

To start with the texture may be something you haven’t used before. It’s a thick consistency almost like a moisturiser, which for some is odd to apply to the hair. Apply to towel dried hair, but don’t put on too much. The Moroccanoil in the cream is very rich, so you don’t need too much. When I was blow-drying my hair, it did seem to respond to my brush a bit more. I found it easier to curl the ends and I got more of a definitive wave.

The smell of the cream is lovely, like all the Moroccanoil products, and I found that my blow-dry bounce lasted all day. I am quite lucky and don’t tend to have frizzy hair – but if you do this is a wonder cream for combating frizz too!

    5/5  :)

    Shine Spray

The glimmer shine spray from Moroccanoil is perfect to add a finishing touch to your hair style. A few spritz and that ultra shine glossy look is definitely there. You can tell the product is a high quality product due to the richness of the liquid. Be careful not to spray too close to your head as it really grabs onto the strands. I made the mistake of getting a bit spritz happy and ended up with a greasy looking barnett – not that attractive! Next time I blow-dried with the styling cream I applied the shine spray again – but from a lot further away. This time I did get a lovely shine to my hair and it made it feel sooo smooth and silky!

Loved the product once I knew how to use it properly!

    4/5 :)

  • Review: Moroccanoil Restorative Hair Mask

Lots of you have been asking me about hair masks and how to use them so I decided this week to review the Moroccanoil Restorative hair mask.

Moroccanoil hair mask Moroccanoil hair mask

My hair is quite dry at the ends and I always feel like it needs a bit more moisture. Described as ‘for weak and damaged hair’, I thought this mask would be the best suited for my locks right now.

The reconstructive formula, which is rich in argan oil and vegetable protein, is meant to penetrate deeply to help restore your hairs elasticity.

To use: first wash your hair with shampoo. Then, apply a generous amount to towel dried hair and comb through. Let it soak in for 5-7 minutes and rinse and finish with conditioner.

You’re meant to use it once a week to begin with and less frequently when your hair improves.

The first time I used the hair mask, I have to admit, I saw a huge difference. My hair was so unbelievably smooth, it was soft to touch and fell out of my hands. I really couldn’t believe the difference.

I have now been using the mask once a week for 4 weeks and I have seen such an improvement. The ends of my hair are now silkier and look healthier. Plus, it smells delicious!

I would not hesitate to recommend this hair mask – try it out ladies!

    5/5
