Bare is Beautiful

We all want to look good this summer and the best way to do this is to wear as little make up as possible. It may sound crazy to ditch most of your make-up but below are some tips on how to look natural and flawless.

Step 1: First, apply sun cream to protect your skin or  moisturiser with UVA protection to protect your skin from the sun. Then apply a creamy golden mineral powder to combat the oil and a bronzer for a sun-kissed look. When applying bronzer, concentrate on your cheekbones, middle of forehead, bridge of nose and chin.

Step 2: Brush a light layer of shimmery eye shadow across your lids, because again, we want to create a more natural look. I usually add some lighter eye shadow in the corner of my eyes to enhance them.

Step 3: To finish this look add a natural-looking lip-gloss of peach or light pink. I don’t usually add mascara to my eyes when creating this look as it makes it more natural to leave it out however you can do if you want, as either way it looks amazing.

Summer makeup

Although this look is great for going out in the summer, it doesn’t suit everyone. Some people prefer to have a heavier approach so below is another example of how to get that gorgeous summer look:

Step 1: Apply sun cream before anything else, to protect against the sun or instead use a moisturiser with UVA protection.

Step 2: Then apply concealer to the dark patches under your eyes, spots and blemishes. If you are not completely comfortable with abandoning your foundation altogether then use a tinted moisturiser as this will even out your skin tone and feel lighter than a heavy foundation.

Step 3: To add to this, brush a thin layer of bronzer with a slight shimmer or pink undertone to your cheeks, across the bridge of your nose and on your temples to give your face a sun kissed look.

Step 4: To keep this look natural I use a simple light pink lipstick, as it will make your lips stand out a little more but doesn’t go over the top.

Step 5: If you would like to add eye shadow than a deep copper colour will give you a shimmery look that will look amazing in the sun.

Step 6: Although trying to remain natural, most women won’t go without mascara, so my tip is; if you’re trying to maintain a natural look whilst wearing it, make sure it is not clumpy mascara that clings to your lashes like glue. Buy a thinner mascara, possibly a brown one, as this will look more natural.
